Kieselbach Galéria

The prestigious art gallery in Hungary, which specializes in classical (1850-1950) Hungarian and European paintings and drawings, located in the heart of Budapest (corner of Szent István krt. and Falk Miksa utca, on the Pest side of the Margaret Bridge). The Gallery organizes three great auctions per year and takes in hundreds of paintings for sale.

The Kieselbach Gallery – besides its art dealing activity – arranges exhibitions with great success which are highly appreciated by profession and the audience as well. The topics of the shows perfectly mirror the taste of the owner of the gallery, and also his preferences in Hungarian art. The exhibitions organized by the Gallery focus on the oeuvres of painters, different periods and trends, artistic attitudes and on thematic shows. Tamás Kieselbach – besides being active on the art market – considers the matter of presenting the treasures of Hungarian painting very important. His aim is to elevate the acknowledgement of Hungarian art to its well-deserved level.

As Tamás Kieselbach put it: ‘The joy of encountering artworks excited me to start my own collection and, broadening the spectrum of this activity led to the establishment of the Gallery and the organization of our exhibitions. The next step was the publishing of two volumes about my collection which were followed by two other books, the Modern Hungarian Painting 1892-1919 and Modern Hungarian Painting 1919-1964. With our new website, which launched in 2016, we reach even further because it is an always changing and expanding platform. We are able to show the entirety of the Hungarian history of art on this platform – without compromises or limitations to the content. The www.kieselbach.hu page is accessible for the widest audience, free of charge, both in Hungarian and in English.’

The Kieselbach webshop is constantly expanding and more than three thousand artworks are available for sale at the present time – all of which can be viewed at a prearranged time. The aim of the webshop is to connect the owners and customers making the artworks more accessible and facilitates their circulation.
